
Converga is a Business Process Outsourcing company with 1300 employees globally and offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Manilla and Chicago.
Issue Faced
Converga’s HR Manager has resigned and the company was about to undergo an acquisition integration. Given the circumstances, it made little sense for the organisation to recruit for a replacement; although, there were still key HR functions that needed to be addressed, such as remuneration & performance reviews and maintenance of the general HR function.
Solution
The People Scene was engaged in a consulting capacity for three months at four days per week to address the key issues faced. During that time the remuneration and performance review cycles were completed. The People Scene worked onsite with the CEO and executive management to ensure continuity with key activities, leading the HR function and working with the remaining HR staff and the operations function based in Manilla.
Outcome
The business continued to function without missing a beat in the HR space. The People Scene supported the transition of the incoming HR team from the parent company while maintaining the HR function and progressing the key tasks of the various reviews.
